MegaFon board wants Vermishyan to replace Soldatenkov as CEO

MOSCOW, Oct 11 (PRIME) -- The board of directors of big Russian mobile operator MegaFon has recommended shareholders to appoint Executive Director Gevork Vermishyan as general director of the company instead of Sergei Soldatenkov, according to the company’s documents seen by PRIME on Thursday.

“To include the matter of electing general director of the company into the agenda of an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on November 13, 2018. To approve the candidacy of Gevork Arutyunovich Vermishyan to be elected for the position of general director of the company,” the documents read.

Soldatenkov said in August that he could leave MegaFon upon expiration of his contract in early 2019 and mentioned Vermishyan as one of his potential successors.
